I’m a self taught Jack of All Trades but I’m passionate about two things more than anything; open technology and functional design, as they together are what drive humanity forward.
Working with small clients without much content and resources have made me a lover of whitespace and open source typefaces.
I’ve thorough knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator on Mac OS X and Windows. Feel comfortable designing in both CMYK and RGB comforming to PDF/X-3 and IE6. Strill trying to grasp all the sheer goodness of HTML5 and WOFF.
Developed using PHP, JavaScript/jQuery, HTML and CSS on L/MAMP stacks (but I don’t have a neck beard, yet).
Worked a lot with with server side PDF generation using TCPDF and PDFLib and image generation with GhostScript and ImageMagick. As a bonus I’m familiar with server side printing using JDF (wow!) and LP.
Deployed websites using custom code and WordPress on OS X Server, CentOS and Ubuntu through SSH on smaller webhosts and Amazon EC2.
Also, I’m a retired World of Warcraft gamer.
